The Fifth Element(1997):
This is one of my all time favourite films, partly because of the design but mostly how you easily empathise with the characters. The scenery is so good and encapsulating that there is never a dull moment and there is great acting too! Milla Jovovich who was only 19 when offered the role had put her heart and soul into it and really is an inspiration to all actors. Gary Oldman puts in another incredible performance in this movie as usual, he is one of England's all time actors for sure!! This movie has influenced me to always fill the shot and don't be boring with it! There are so many other

Factors also like incredible effects, comedy from Chris Tucker and amazing and innovative costume design from Jean-Paul Gaultier, a mega famous fashion designer. I LOVE THIS MOVIE
Phil Tippet:
Phil is a special effects master who worked on all the Star Wars, Robo Cop, Jurassic Park and Starship Troopers! That's just scraping the surface!! Phil has worked on just about every 80s films with good, non CGI effects. Personally, I believe that having practical effects rather than CGI looks and feels wayyyy better even though it is much harder to do right, it is worth it for the final product it makes. Phil has also directed and made his own movie called "Mad God" which I thoroughly enjoyed! Its a brain hurting, crazy, gory adventure and I loved it! Phil has inspired me to think if it 'aint broke don't fix it! With his use of classic stop motion and practical effects he is able to produce these amazing blockbuster movies.

From Dusk Till Dawn(1996):

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and screenplay written Quinten Tarantino is a match made in heaven... or hell??!! This movie pulls the biggest switch up in movie history as it starts out as a gritty crime movie until they enter a strip club full of vampires!! This movie was my first introduction into Tarantino and even though its not classed as a Taratino movie it still reeks of him. This style of insanely creative directing is what I hope to emulate in my future and I love a good twist too!! Clooney's best film and a dark but great one!!
Jaws(1975)

I consider this film my all time favourite movie and I was obsessed with it for ages. Spielberg showing that he is the best once again and changing horror movies forever. I love how this movie builds tension with its infamous soundtrack and camera angles chosen to elevate the horror. The fact that I could watch it now and be scared even though its from the 70s proves that it should be an influence for everyone in the film business especially if your making horror films.
